Job Description


Team Summary

You will join our Visa Managed Services group under the Visa Consulting and Analytics division of Visa. The Senior Backend Engineer will be working with a key, strategic partner on an exciting opportunity to enhance their newly launched digital bank. Due to the nature of this role and project, it is offered initially as a 12-month Fixed Term contract with the potential to extend based on scope of work and scale of project. Alternatively, you could use this project as a springboard into Visa and be redeployed to other Visa Managed Services projects or even into Visa’s world class technology team.


What a Senior Backend Engineer does at Visa:

As a Senior Engineer you will be part of a Tech Squad that focuses on developing customer experiences in the clients new banking app. You will get an opportunity to work on cutting edge technology and play a pivotal role in driving advancement in our client’s engineering practices. You will lead by example and coach others to develop and automate the testing of robust, adaptable code that is always production ready. Through collaboration with other developers, your work will improve the digital banking experience for our client’s customers. In this role you will also:

  • Responsible for working with highly collaborative teams and technology vendors to support integration of technologies on the roadmap implementing robust and scalable systems emphasizing on designing and delivering as per the established standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to deliver the projects as per the plan and schedule
  • Coach other engineers and team members to increase their capability and in turn, the capability of the scrum teams and organization.
  • Maintain a focus on personal development of soft skills including refining ability to operate in ambiguity and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications


What you will need to be successful:

  • Experience working with but not limited to the following: Go, GCP, Python, C#, Java, React
  • Ability to learn quickly and draw meaningful conclusions from independent research
  • An expert at managing projects and solving complex, real-world problems
  • Confident understanding in engineering principles, data structures and algorithms
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong customer-focus mindset, preferably with retail banking experience
